A Checklist for Quicker Responses to Your RFQs
Our online quoting portal is designed with simplicity in mind, requiring answers to only a few critical questions. However, providing more comprehensive information upfront will help us accelerate the process.
To ensure we can provide the most accurate and timely quote, we are highlighting key elements to include in your RFQ. You can share these aspects of your project in the “Additional Details” box of our portal or in the body of your email:
Is this a repeat quote/repeat part?
Blueprint
3D model (for Swiss screw, wire EDM services, and profile grinding)
Stock size
Finish size
Finish tolerance
Material
Length of the part (for thru-feed and bar grinding)
Length of the grind (for in-feed applications)
Material hardness (for Swiss precision machining and thread rolling services. We can roll a thread up to 40 Rockwell on the hardness scale)
Phone number (Optional, but can be easier than email when needed)

The Most Important Time-Saver: Is This a Repeat Quote?
If your RFQ is a repeat quote or a part we’ve previously produced, letting us know will significantly speed up the quoting process – sometimes within the hour. Including details like the date of the previous RFQ or the Purchase Order (PO) number can reduce the lead time even further.
Specify the Services You’re Requesting to Avoid Back-and-Forth
We’ve expanded our capabilities over the years to help businesses simplify their supply chain, but some customers may be unaware of our full suite of offerings. As a result, RFQs that do not specify requested services lead to ambiguity. Without clear instructions, we may need to follow up.
While we are always happy to talk with our customers to clarify the exact service required, the back and forth can delay the quoting process. By specifying which service you are requesting, we’ll be able to provide the quote faster and avoid unnecessary delays.
How Blueprints and 3D Models Speed Up Quotes
Blueprints are extremely valuable for quoting, yet we only receive them for 60% of the projects we quote. Including blueprints minimizes questions and extra discussion time and also ensures we have all the necessary information from the start.
While not needed for every project, 3D models are invaluable for Swiss screw machining, wire EDM machining, and profile grinding. Providing these models helps us streamline the quoting process and simplifies job setup, ultimately leading to quicker turnaround times and faster deliveries.
